As Gülcan went back to Berlin on saturday and Thomas, Flora, Nina and me are leaving very soon, last thursday was our last day together. After making the fonts at the uni we met at Day’s Restaurant with Jin Soeng and payed 14 pounds for this enormous buffet. The others came in a bit later and were sooo lucky that the security was busy with other customers that they could “accidentally” just pass without paying! On that day I had just had a glass of milk, a bag of doritos and about 50 bubble gums so I was very hungry. The food - as you may see - was DELICIOUS! :) I probably should start working out now^^
The AUB Corporate Design Concept includes a new handmade font every year that will be used for the headlines. I made one with my favorite chips/crisps Dorito’s. (Can you find the mistake?^^)
And here the bubble gum font. Unfortunately Flora’s hard drive broke and we lost her tape font and all the other making of pictures we made! :( If we have the time, we’ll make it again on monday and redo the Dorito’s B. :)
I’ve been dreaming really a lot and very strange things since the 2012. Last week a woke up after dreaming something really awkward (can’t remember what exactly). Apparently I was so relieved it was a dream, that I made a photo and wrote something my sketchbook. I thought I dreamt that too but I actually discovered it some days ago: “Thank god I woke up and all this crazy shit did not happen.” Must have been something really terrible! (:
Nadine, another graphic design colleague from the my class at the Lette-Verein which also is doing a similar exchange/internship project in London, came with us to the centre. We came across magmabooks, a book store chain focused on design. This little shop was filled with hundreds of high quality design books and magazines! We probably stayed there about an hour flipping through all the books we’d love to have someday in our shelf. Surprisingly we, 3 graphic designers, left the store without buying anything. They just had so many great books we couldn’t decided which one to buy… and because of the space on our flight back to germany… and the money too! ;)
Planning the prototype 2.0 of ”Paul - The Logomachine”. Hope the workshop will finish making it until the presentation, otherwise we’ll have to built another one with cardboard.
After buying the stuff for AUB we went to the Camden Market. This time we had a closer at the Stables Market which is the biggest part/market of Camden. It mainly offers clothes and furniture but also this awesome Neon-Night-Lights-Shop with really loud techno music!
